Our History
Who are Bunting, Tripp & Ingley?
In and around 1923, Mr. Norman H. Bunting worked as a bookkeeper and studied accounting. That same year, Mr. Bunting sat for and passed the Certified Public Accountant examination. As best our records indicate, Mr. Bunting went into business for himself in 1926 as N. H. Bunting & Co. Over time Mr. Bunting became a prominent figure in Lake Wales and his tiny business quickly became successful. Through the Great Depression and various wars Mr. Bunting and company persevered and continued to operate the firm. Around 1940 Mr. Bunting joined forces with H. J. Comer, Jr. and the firm became known as Bunting & Comer. In the 1950’s, both Carl Tripp and H.A. Ingley, Jr. joined the firm Bunting, Comer & Associates. During that time period, both men were admitted as a partners and the firm renamed themselves as Bunting, Tripp & Ingley.
From the 1950’s on through the 1980’s, BT&I saw a lot of growth as there was much demand in the areas of tax and audit. In 1999, BT&I merged with Reeves & Co. This merger brought with it years of audit experience and expertise and helped bolster BTI’s audit practice. A few years later, in 2002, BT&I merged it’s practice with David Allen CPA and opened its doors to the people of Tampa, FL. In2008, BT&I became a member of CPAmerica International®, one of the largest associations of independent CPA firms. Our membership in CPAmerica International® has really helped our firm deal with complex domestic and international tax and audit issues
