Our History
A Legacy of Excellence Since 1926
Bunting, Tripp & Ingley traces its roots back to 1926 when Norman H. Bunting began his career as a bookkeeper while pursuing his Certified Public Accountant designation. That same year, Mr. Bunting successfully passed the CPA examination, and in 1926, he founded N. H. Bunting & Co. in Lake Wales, Florida. Through hard work and dedication, his small firm quickly earned a reputation for excellence, even weathering the challenges of the Great Depression and wartime economy.
By 1940, Mr. Bunting partnered with H. J. Comer, Jr., rebranding the firm as Bunting & Comer. The 1950s brought further evolution when Carl Tripp and H. A. Ingley, Jr. joined the team. Both men became partners, leading to the firm’s renaming as Bunting, Tripp & Ingley (BT&I).
Growth and Innovation
Throughout the mid-20th century, BT&I expanded significantly, driven by rising demand for tax and audit services. The firm’s growth continued into the 1990s, culminating in a merger with Reeves & Co. in 1999. This partnership enhanced BT&I’s audit expertise and strengthened its capabilities. In 2002, BT&I further extended its reach by merging with David Allen CPA, establishing a presence in Tampa, Florida.
In 2008, BT&I became a proud member of CPAmerica International®, one of the largest global networks of independent CPA firms. This affiliation allowed BT&I to provide its clients with innovative solutions for complex domestic and international tax and audit challenges.
