Bookkeeper/QuickBooks® Pro Advisor

We are currently seeking a bookkeeper who can help our clients in gaining the financial information that is necessary to facilitate smooth business operations. This individual will be professional, confidential, and thorough.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounts for financial transactions by establishing chart of accounts, defining bookkeeping policies and procedures
  • Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating and posting transactions
  • Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries
  • Balances general ledger by preparing trial balances; reconciling entries
  • Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
  • Complies with all federal, state and local legal requirements

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of bookkeeping experience
  • 5+ years training/educating clients in QuickBooks®
  • Identify specific bookkeeping skills (i.e. your specific area of expertise; payroll, POS, etc.)
  • Must show demonstrate proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and Fundamentals of Bookkeeping

Computer Skills:

  • Must be proficient in QuickBooks® and Excel®
  • Knowledge of Peachtree® and QuickBooks® Pro Advisor Certification a plus

Administrative Staff

This position provides primary support to partners and managers as well as assigned firm-wide functions and team initiatives when applicable.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience supporting senior level management. Prior experience in an accounting, legal or other professional services environment strongly desired.
  • Superior technical skills in MS Word and Excel with experience formatting documents
  • Knowledge of Creative Solutions Accounting and Ultra Tax software helpful, but not necessary
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and administrative skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand how financial statements are put together in order to proof the addition of numbers in the financial statements
  • Strong vocabulary, grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills. Excellent grammar, punctuation, writing, editing, proofing and verbal communication skills
  • Verify numerical accuracy of documents by use of 10-key
  • Must be a team player focused on internal and external client service.
  • Experience supporting multiple top-level executives with competing priorities.
  • Ability to successfully function in a deadline driven environment.
  • Must be able to work overtime during tax busy season (Feb.-April) including 60-70 hours per week from February through April 15.
  • Additional responsibilities include: receptionist relief, general administrative duties (mail, file, copy, scanning, etc.) and occasional errands (post office, refreshments for meetings, etc.)

Controller – Various Corporations/Nonprofits

Our clients are always looking for experienced Controllers to run their internal accounting departments. Our firm is usually contacted when the client is in need of this position to be filled. As a service to our clients, we like to keep resumes on hand to make available to them as the opportunity presents itself. Most Controller positions usually reports directly to the Managing Director. You will have exposure to all levels of the organization, and must be a strategic minded person who is also able to be very hands-on, roll up your sleeves and dig into the details.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and analyze monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements to be reviewed with management
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Develop analytical models and ad-hoc reports
  • Compile, analyze, interpret, monitor, and report financial and operational metrics
  • Oversee Payroll, AP, AR, P&L
  • Payroll, sales & use, and income tax preparation
  • Maintain insurance policies and renewals

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have 5-15 years of financial/accounting leadership, financial analysis and accounting management experience.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, accounting, problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Must have advanced computer and database skills (including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Crystal Reports, and accounting software).
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality and be able to adapt to a fast-paced environment that requires multi-tasking, prioritizing and meeting multiple deadlines.
  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Information Systems; MBA/MS a plus
  • CMA/CPA a plus
